BEGINNINGS AND COMPANY PROFILE
Walter Priest started The Cleveland Plant & Flower Company in a small storefront on High Street in Cleveland, Ohio in 1913. The company sold flowers to the local retail florists on a commision basis for local growers. Soon after the company started, Walter hired Charles Macuga Sr. and he became a partner in the business. Flowers were delivered by street car, bus, or taxi back in those days. Over the years, the generations of the Priest and Macuga families, and many dedicated employees have grown the business to 5 full service wholesale operations in 3 states and a brokerage office to service our international customers. CPF currently serves customers all over the world. Established in 1913, and celebrating our 113th year in business, CPF remains one of the largest wholesale floral products distributors in the USA. Our more than 4,000 customers are made up of Retail Florists, Supermarkets, Event Planners, Caterers, Crafters, Fund Raisers and other market segments in the business of selling floral products to consumers. We import fresh flowers, foliages, and plants daily from all over the world and distribute them to customers all over the USA. We have 6 full service distibution centers located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. We also operate a Direct Shipping brokerage office that specializes in sourcing farm fresh flowers for customers who prefer a more personal touch. We use a fleet of more that 50 vehicles to deliver our products to much of the mid-west and eastern USA daily. In addition to fresh products, CPF carries a vast inventory of floral supplies, including baskets, vases(glassware), ribbon, maches, oasis, glues and wedding, prom, homecoming, graduation supplies !
